Responsibilities
Improving chemical production and utility processes
Collaborating with production staff to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
Leading process safety activities, including:
Management of Change
Process hazard analysis
Pre-start up reviews
Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions for process incidents
Training personnel on new / changed processes
Providing technical and process safety support for new / experimental product trials
Developing and updating operating procedures, P&IDs, engineering records
Supporting or leading capital projects
Assisting with creation of SOPs for new and existing equipment and processes as needed
Developing competency to fill in for team members as needs arise
Qualification
Required
Chemical or Mechanical engineering degree
3+ years of experience with chemical manufacturing, involving batch reactions
Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
Demonstrated track record of self-motivation and skills growth
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/ projects simultaneously within tight timeframes
Strong interactive skills with all levels of plant organization
Willingness to travel when required
Demonstrated Process Engineering and project support skillset including: Process troubleshooting, Process Hazard Analysis leadership, Equipment sizing & specification, PFD development, Equipment startup & commissioning, Automation & controls knowledge, Project scope development, Design safety reviews, Contractor management, Equipment ordering
