Responsibilities

Establish strong relationships with the Patient Services and commercial operations teams, understand their business requirements, priorities, and strategic direction to facilitate early and consistent engagement with procurement
Work with the Patient Services and the commercial operations organizations to develop and execute best in class category strategies to address outlined short- and long-term business objectives
Leverage spend data analytics, external benchmarking, and cost modeling to identify high value opportunities that deliver sustainable value and operational efficiencies to the business
Lead sourcing activities consistent with the category strategy objectives. This includes developing sourcing strategies and executing sourcing events through efficient use of appropriate buying channels and resources
Ensure supplier contracts are current and reflect the most up to date Biogen terms and conditions
Serve as the supplier relationship manager for key suppliers
Responsible for supplier management activities, ensuring the appropriate level of oversight, direction and development based on the defined criteria
Responsible for identifying supplier risk areas and developing and executing risk mitigation actions

Required

Minimum of 5+ years of procurement experience including strategic sourcing, negotiations and category management
Experienced negotiator with working knowledge of terms and conditions, redlining, and working with Legal team to mitigate risk and ensure best value terms for the company
Strong leadership and collaboration skills with ability to build effective relationships and influence peers and key stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal, motivational and leadership skills
Ability to deal with change and ambiguity effectively
Strong project management skills with ability to plan tasks, manage progress, remove barriers, manage change, resolve conflict, build consensus, and motivate team members across multiple projects concurrently
Strong analytical skills which provide insights and formulate recommendations using data driven solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to the given audience. Can present information in a clear and concise manner
Ability to prioritize, organize and multitask in a flexible, fast-paced, and challenging environment
Process and cost improvement skills
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required

Preferred

C.P.M./CPSM certification desirable
