Product Manager III - Data

As a Data Product Manager III, you will define and deliver products that drive meaningful business outcomes, working at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and product strategy.

Responsibilities
Own the product lifecycle for data initiatives, from ideation to launch and iteration, defining the "what" and "why" behind product decisions with a sharp focus on customer value and business outcomes
Develop and maintain a coherent roadmap for data platforms, pipelines, data models, and internal data tools
Work closely with analytics, risk, compliance, operations, engineering, and fintech partner teams to understand data needs and translate them into actionable technical requirements
Lead the definition and mapping of all partner data integrations, ensuring new fintech partners align with Coastal’s data models, standards, and platform capabilities
Develop and steward clear data specifications that align engineering, analytics, compliance, and partner teams around consistent, scalable data structures
Lead initiatives to improve data quality, lineage, and observability, while partnering with governance and security teams to ensure compliant data access, controls, and usage
Identify opportunities to modernize the data stack and propose next-generation data solutions that enhance performance, scalability, and reliability
Serve as the primary liaison between business users and the Data Engineering team
Use quantitative analysis to identify opportunities, validate hypotheses, measure product/feature performance, and inform roadmap decisions
Champion experimentation and data-driven iteration across the organization
Continuously identify opportunities to improve product performance, user experience, and internal workflows, driving toward constant iteration and improvement
Explore and evaluate new data technologies, including AI/ML enablement, lakehouse architectures, automation tooling, and data observability platforms
Actively engage with customers, partners, and cross-functional teams to validate ideas, resolve issues, and build transparency and trust
Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, demonstrating initiative, managing ambiguity, and pushing ideas forward without waiting for permission
Qualification
Required
8+ years of professional work experience, including significant work in data engineering, data product management, data analytics, or platform product management related to financial services
Deep understanding of data pipelines, data modeling, modern data architectures, and data governance
Hands-on experience with Databricks for data pipeline development, lakehouse architectures, and collaborative analytics
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise working with SQL, data platforms, and metrics
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to influence across functions, synthesize complexity, and drive alignment with cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to translate product strategy into clear, actionable execution plans, including product requirements, prioritization frameworks, and go-to-market coordination
Exposure to hypothesis-driven product development, A/B testing, and agile product methodologies
Commercially minded, with an understanding of financial and business levers that impact product decisions
Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments where ambiguity, competing priorities, and learning by doing are the norm
Curiosity and drive to explore emerging technologies, especially AI, data platforms, and fintech infrastructure
Extensive prior experience in product management, strategy, consulting, or operations is required
A genuine interest in financial services and technology, and a strong desire to build products that deliver meaningful outcomes for customers
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
Preferred
MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred but not required, demonstrated product leadership and business impact matter more
Familiarity with Banking-as-a-Service, embedded finance, or blockchain is a plus, but not required
