Vice President of Major Gifts - FL Remote

Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, multi-year major gift strategy and portfolio that supports the advancement of CHS strategic objectives and ensures organizational long-term financial sustainability by securing their individual and team goals
Develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts strategy aligned with organizational priorities and long-term goals
Provide executive leadership for transformational giving initiatives
Partner closely with the C-Suite, Board, and other executives on organizational messaging, fundraising and donor engagement strategies
Lead strategic planning for multi-year fundraising campaigns ensuring that major gifts serve as the campaign’s foundation
Train and mentor a high performing Major Gifts team, ensuring they follow best practices, stay on benchmarks and remain focused on key performance indicators
Manage a personal portfolio of top-tier $600,000+ major and principal gift prospects, securing 6-8 figure commitments
Oversee the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors
Guide the development of compelling cases for support, proposals, and customized gift strategies
Enhance team focus on the moves management process to increase the speed of solicitation and closed/won major gifts
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Program Management, Communications, etc.) to develop collateral that maximizes impact and visibility for CHS and its major gift partners
Attend sponsored and other events to build and deepen relationships with prospective and current donors and other key constituents
Represent CHS at donor, community and special events, as needed
Use data-driven analysis to strengthen the donor pipeline and major donor retention
Serve as a key member of the Development Leadership Team, collaborating on development strategy, planning and budgeting
Oversee collaboration with the Finance Team to coordinate administration, management and stewardship of major gifts
Oversee prospect research, moves management, donor CRM systems, and reporting dashboards
Ensure accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue tracking
Maintain compliance with ethical fundraising standards and donor intent
Monitor and maintain compliance with CHS policies and practices regarding risk management, donation processing and financial controls
Steward and prepare regular reports of impact and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics
Recruit, supervise and support team members and foster their professional development, including the transfer of knowledge obtained through training
Establish annual team goals and objectives; track and report results
Coach, support and evaluate team member performance, taking corrective action if needed
Deliver timely communication through regular management and team meetings
Comply and confirm compliance with CHS code of conduct, policies, practices and other legal obligations
Implementing policies and practices designed to prevent, recognize and respond to work-related stress
Participate in succession planning to build the bench strength necessary for future talent needs
Develop a strong knowledge base and stay current on job-related issues and trends
Participate actively in departmental meetings, training and education, as well as the quality process
Pick up projects on the fly; perform other duties as assigned from time to time
Demonstrate the CHS Common Bond values in the performance of all job duties
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Sales, or related degree from accredited university. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Ten plus years of experience progressive fund-raising experience, with at least five years in a major gifts leadership role
Experience working with CEOs, Board members, and top-level philanthropists
Demonstrated success in securing major, principal, and transformational gifts, as well as leadership of multi-year campaigns
Preferred
Experience developing and managing large-scale fundraising initiatives, special events, and/or corporate relationships
Experience in the use of fundraising software and tools
