Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, and collections
Manage payroll processing for 20+ employees, including coordination with outside providers as needed
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and support month-end close activities
Handle lien releases, job costing support, and construction-related accounting requirements
Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online
Prepare internal financial reports and support leadership with ad hoc analysis
Oversee general office and administrative functions tied to accounting and payroll
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices
Serve as a hands-on manager who can both execute and oversee daily work as needed
Qualification
Required
5+ years of accounting experience preferred, ideally within construction or civil engineering
Strong working knowledge of AP, AR, billing, payroll, and reconciliations
Experience with QuickBooks Online required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
Self-starter with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset
Preferred
Familiarity with lien releases and construction-related accounting processes a plus
