Unsecured Lending Strategy Associate

Citizens is seeking a Strategy Associate to support the Unsecured Lending business within the Unsecured Lending Business Performance & Strategic Planning team. This role partners directly with senior leadership to drive business prioritization, strategic planning, and performance management, providing structured analysis and strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

Support quarterly and annual prioritization and strategic planning routines for the Unsecured Lending business
Assist in the development and maintenance of multi‑year strategic roadmaps aligned to business objectives and investment priorities
Deliver and maintain a comprehensive view of business performance, translating financial and operational results into insights and actions
Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics to identify growth opportunities and optimize portfolio performance
Partner with Unsecured Lending leadership to diagnose issues, evaluate options, and develop strategies that drive profitable growth
Conduct focused analyses across products, channels, customer segments, and pricing to inform decision‑making
Own the development and facilitation of executive‑level presentations, including monthly strategy and performance updates
Synthesize complex analysis into clear, concise materials for senior management and, as needed, the Board
Lead or support cross‑functional strategic initiatives spanning multiple functions or business units
Drive structured problem‑solving on high‑priority, ambiguous topics
Support ad‑hoc strategic projects as assigned
Work closely with Product, Credit Risk, Enterprise Strategy, and Finance partners as needed
Contribute to business line strategy efforts with a focus on driving outcomes through ideation, effective challenge, and data-driven insights

Required

2–5 years of relevant experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate development, analytics, fintech, or product roles
Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills with the ability to independently build executive‑ready materials
Demonstrated ability to apply structured thinking and quantitative analysis to complex business problems
Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging senior leaders
Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced environment
Self‑starter with intellectual curiosity, strong judgment, and a bias toward action
Proven ability to collaborate and influence across functions
Bachelor's Degree required
