Environmental Project Manager I/II/Sr - ASL

Ahtna, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to provide overall project management direction on a variety of environmental remediation projects. The role involves planning, managing, and delivering projects while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and overseeing multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead environmental projects from scoping through completion, including investigation, remediation, permitting, monitoring, and reporting
Review and approve detailed project/component-level plans (including QAPPs/Work Plans/Monitoring Reports/Investigation Reports/Human Health Risk Assessments/ and other CERCLA documents)
Manage and oversee projects, including managing subcontracting process and subcontractors’ activities, prepare technical evaluations on their engineering specialty, identify and recommend solutions to mitigate issues and problems encountered during various construction phases in accordance with project scope of work, acceptable construction code/practices, and Federal and State regulations
Develop and define acceptance criteria for all project phases/key Close monitoring of critical milestones and deliverables
Ensure the project stays aligned with the strategic goals and delivers the planned/stated
Provide engineering and technical guidance, support, coordination, and oversight to project staff preparing written documentation
Collaborate with various groups within Ahtna and multiple client
Identification analysis of all project risks and preparation for a risk response
Proactive communication of risks to concerned
Identify and ensure the resolution of all project-level
Manage all communications between internal stakeholders, clients, and third
Align all the project components and groups to ensure project
Supervise construction field staff and Work closely with site superintendents in executing a wide variety of construction activities, overseeing and conducting field quality control functions with field QC staff
Foster a high-performance team environment where diversity is valued, and people are treated with respect and dignity. Applying innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
Mentor and/or supervise junior
Ensure compliance with all quality, regulatory, and security
Preparing and reviewing proposals per RFP and bid documents, including estimating, budgets and bid
Authoring and/or reviewing contract deliverables, including, but not limited to, product or technical submittals, work plans, safety plans, sampling and analysis plans, and reports
Support field staff as
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, , and their impact on project activities
Other duties as assigned by
Provide client assistance to program managers
Manage scope, schedule, and budget on small-sized projects (less than $500,000)
Maintain 1-2 areas of technical expertise
Technical project execution and document preparation, peer review project documents
Assist with small-sized task orders and project proposals
Technical mentoring
Provide client assistance to program managers
Manage scope, schedule, and budget on medium-sized projects ($500,000 - $2M)
Maintain 2 areas of technical expertise
Lead technical project execution and document preparation, peer review project documents
Prepare medium-sized task orders and project proposals
Project staffing and technical mentoring
Business development assistance to program managers
Manage scope, schedule, and budget on large-sized projects (greater than $2M)
Maintain 2-3 areas of technical expertise
Lead technical project execution and document preparation, senior review project documents
Prepare task orders and project proposals
Project staffing and technical mentoring

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, or Physical/Environmental Sciences
Demonstrated working knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, and California environmental laws and regulations, including how they are implemented by relevant agencies
Experience managing environmental projects in a consulting or regulatory environment
Valid Driver's License with clean driving record, able to drive company vehicle
Experience with Federal contracting
Experience and adept at explaining technical aspects of fieldwork to internal and external clients verbally and in writing
US Citizenship
Ability to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies (e.g., DOD, DHS, FAA, ) to obtain security access badges
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
Three (3) to Five (5) years of relevant experience; specialized training and/or an advanced degree such as MS may be substituted for work experience
Five (5) to Seven (7) years of relevant experience, specialized training, and/or an advanced degree such as MS may be substituted for work experience
Eight (8) or more years of relevant experience, specialized training, and/or an advanced degree such as MS may be substituted for work experience

Preferred

GIS/CAD Software
Professional Registration such as PE, PG, CEM or PMP
Experience with Superfund or state-led cleanup programs, water quality permits, air permitting, and hazardous waste management
Experience with government contracting
Ability to interpret and analyze environmental laboratory/data validation reports
Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures
