Responsibilities
Architect and manage cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Implement automation, IaC, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines
Ensure cloud security, identity management, and compliance
Monitor and tune cloud systems for optimum performance, identify single points of failure, and implement strategies to increase performance, reliability, and scalability
Support application migration and modernization initiatives
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and product teams, to integrate cloud services and streamline workflows
Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices in cloud engineering, including automation, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA, 10 years with MS/MA or 7 years with PhD
4 additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
Prior experience with cloud technologies to include AWS, Azure, and Google
Experience using coding languages such as Perl, Java, PowerShell, PHP, Ruby, Python, etc
Experienced with Cloud Architecture patterns and strategies (including IaaS, PaaS, Security, Compute, Storage, and networking)
Experience with Amazon Web Services, code-defined infrastructure, configuration management tools, and CI/CD
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
Preferred
Prior experience supporting NOAA programs
Certified Cloud Solution Architect with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Advanced SQL server and AWS
Active/Current Public Trust
