Intern - Applied AI
ARUP Laboratories is a national clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory and an enterprise of the University of Utah. They are seeking an intern for a 12-week project-focused program centered on clinical software development with an AI focus, where the intern will work on developing expertise with clinical AI software and present a project to the team at the end of the internship.

Utilized in various departments
Develop expertise with clinical AI software development in a reference lab setting
Development of LLM agents
Deploying and monitoring deep learning models in a clinical setting
Completion and presentation of final project
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of software development in a regulated healthcare setting
Effective creation and use of LLM agents
Understanding of inference deployment of large deep learning models
Ability to communicate frequently and effectively with others
Ability to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office
Ability to conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly
Ability to perform fine motor control tasks such as picking, pinching, typing
Vision acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as making general observations of depth and distance
