Responsibilities
Oversees the lifecycle of a technology product portfolio and services offered by City of Hope, from ideation and development to implementation and ongoing optimization. This includes defining product requirements, prioritizing features, managing timelines, budgets, and value realization while ensuring cost-effective alignment with user needs and organizational goals. Drives deep collaboration and participation with development resources, leveraging deep agile experience and technical depth to maximize productivity and meet the needs of the organization
Leads the development and maintenance of comprehensive business-aligned technology roadmaps, strategies, and patterns in accordance with the mission and objectives of the Academic Medical Health System. These market-informed strategies guide how industry-leading technologies can be utilized to improve healthcare delivery, patient outcomes, operational efficiency, translational research and value
Collaborates closely with various stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, IT professionals, marketing, researchers, and external partners, to gather insights, solicit feedback, and foster cross-functional collaboration. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders is essential for ensuring the success and adoption of digital initiatives
Prioritizes clinical best practice, user experience and usability in the design and development of digital products, ensuring that they are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with the needs of both patients and healthcare professionals. This may involve conducting user research, usability testing, and iterative design improvements
Stays abreast of emerging technologies and trends in healthcare innovation and across digital landscape, evaluating their potential impact and feasibility for adoption within the COH. This includes assessing products and solutions spanning the entire continuum of care, research, and education with a view towards buy vs. build analysis while identifying novel opportunities for in-house development
Supports governance around the development and implementation of technology products, solutions and innovations. Partner with Finance, Compliance, Risk and Security to ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality. Support system risk initiatives and strategic prioritization of evolving compliant use of data and digital to meet business goals
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to measure the efficacy and impact of technology on patient outcomes, clinical workflows, and operational efficiency. By analyzing data and user feedback, you identify areas for improvement and optimize digital solutions iteratively
Oversees change management initiatives to facilitate the technology adoption process across they system. This may involve providing training and support to staff, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous learning, and addressing resistance to change. You work cross-functionally with multi-disciplinary teams and lead alignment on agile, user-centered design product development
Leverages data analytics and insights to inform technology strategy and measure the impact of new and existing initiatives. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs), Objective and Key Results (OKRs), and other relevant metrics to track progress, analyze trends, and realize technology value. Support development of comprehensive business case rigor and detailed financial analysis practices supporting growth and ROI
Manages relationships with external vendors, partners, and consultants involved in strategy, product development and implementation. Negotiate contracts, oversee service delivery, and ensure alignment with organizational requirements and objectives
Manages a team of product owners, analysts, managers and designers. Support their growth and development. Work cross-functionally with other key COH internal and external partners to grow healthcare products, solutions and experiences aligned with business objectives

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, information technology or related field
Ten (10) years of experience in driving product and project strategy, design, development, execution, evaluation product management
Preferred
Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related discipline
Matrixed health system, product development, design thinking, business development, hospital operations experience preferred
In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations, regulations and patient care
Strong understanding of digital technologies, including EPIC (EMR), virtual care, mobile health apps, and data analytics
Deep understanding of healthcare industry dynamics, coupled with expertise in digital products, innovation methodology and business strategy
Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and compliance requirements in healthcare
Excellent leadership and staff management skills
Deep experience with product management tools and measurements for ROI
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally with all levels of an organization
Understand and manage complex project management functions
Be able to work in a complex, matrixed healthcare environment that requires intense interdepartmental collaboration
Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with multiple priorities
