Responsibilities
Serve are BSC’s global electrostatics expert for
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) – safe handling for sensitive electronics
Electrostatic Attraction(ESA) / FM reduction for in-process and final pack areas in our cleanrooms
Static sensitive chemical handling – safe handling for flammable chemicals
Visits BSC production areas to consult about ESC and ESA issues
Maintains a working knowledge of cleanroom equipment and suppliers used at BSC used to mitigate electrostatics issues
Chairs BSC’s Global ESD Team and hosts monthly meetings
Is an active member of BSC’s Work Environments Community of Practice
Establishes relationships with External Standards Organizations and participates in global standards development and advocacy
Leads education efforts and mentoring in utilization of external standards
Fields requests from all global teams to make decisions on all things electrostatic in nature. (Standards, Materials, Equipment, Electrostatics theory, Particle contamination)
Serves as a teacher and mentor to other Boston Scientific engineers
Qualification
Required
4 year degree in Engineering in a field applicable to the medical device industry
Work experience: 7+ Years with BS, 5-7 Years with MS
Understanding electrostatics in the production (Electrostatic attraction, electrostatic discharge, static safety)
Experience creating documents within a quality system (SOP's, WI's, PM's)
Experience with clean room practices
Collaborative, problem solver

Understanding electrostatics in the production in medical devices
Experience applying international standards to manufacturing environment
