Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision to a core team and offer liaison-based dotted-line oversight to career consultants involved in Academic Integration, with a focus on faculty development and engagement
Lead the design and execution of a university-wide Faculty Engagement Strategy focused on career development, in alignment with the Career Center’s strategic plan
Serve as the primary liaison between the Career Center and academic departments to promote the integration of career education into learning environments across campus
Partner with academic leadership to position career development as a shared institutional responsibility
Develop and deploy opportunities for faculty to participate in career education efforts, such as workshops, career modules, and scalable experiential learning frameworks
Build and manage a faculty recognition process that honors and incentivizes faculty career advocacy through awards, grants, and institutional support
Provide support to academic units to connect their efforts with relevant career readiness competencies and labor market awareness
Support curriculum development initiatives that intentionally align academic learning outcomes with long‑term career development priorities, including career pathways, transferable skills, and post‑graduate readiness
Promote and support curricular and co-curricular approaches that encourage student reflection on the connection between academic content and career preparation
Collaborate closely with the UGA Mentor Program to prioritize faculty awareness of the UGA Mentor Program and the integration of mentors into the student experience
Develop a Faculty Fellows program to promote/bolster the integration of career education across learning environments, with emphasis on program-level and curricular alignment, while supporting course-level innovation
Lead the development of organizational infrastructure that supports and sustains faculty engagement in career education
Collaborate with institutional stakeholders (e.g., Office of Instruction, Center for Teaching and Learning, Student Affairs) to align initiatives and create cross-campus synergy
Serve on relevant university committees and working groups to advocate for career development inclusion in faculty development, general education revisions, and strategic planning efforts
Establish data-informed benchmarks, metrics, and accountability measures to assess the reach, adoption, and effectiveness of academic integration efforts, and their contribution to student career success
Create reports and presentations for senior leadership to communicate progress, identify gaps, and inform continuous improvement efforts
Use assessment results to guide strategic decision-making and share evidence-based practices with campus partners

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 8 years of professional experience

Preferred

Hold an earned Ph.D. or other terminal degree, accompanied by experience leading university‑wide faculty or teaching development initiatives
Bring at least two years of hands‑on experience designing and facilitating faculty development programs, such as teaching workshops, learning communities, or organizational development initiatives focused on teaching and learning
A minimum of two years of teaching experience within a large research university environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities effectively
Documented excellence in teaching, instructional design, and/or educational development within a large public research university
Strong communication skills with the capacity to engage effectively with faculty, staff, administrators, and students
Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across a wide range of stakeholder groups, particularly faculty and academic leaders
Experience working cross‑functionally, leading change initiatives, and coordinating system‑wide resources to support and advance faculty engagement
Knowledge of current trends in career education, experiential learning, and the integration of career readiness into academic curriculum
