Neuropsychologist Adjoint Associate Professor

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a per-diem licensed Neuropsychologist who will work within the Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) interdisciplinary team. The role focuses on direct patient care, specializing in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with mild to moderate TBI and behavioral health comorbidities.

Responsibilities

Conducting outpatient neuropsychological evaluations including:
Reviewing medical records in preparation for assessment and treatment
Providing comprehensive assessment relevant to the patient's presenting concerns and treatment goals
Interpreting neuropsychological and psychological data within the context of complex medical histories
Communicating assessment results verbally and in writing to the patient and family and to a multi-disciplinary team of providers
Actively consulting with, interacting with, and assisting with or co-treating patients and family members during the rehabilitation process in collaboration with the entire interdisciplinary team
Providing individual education and trauma informed behavioral health treatment addressing a wide range of behavioral and social aspects of brain health
Working independently and within an interdisciplinary team to implement a treatment plan and adjust it according to clinical needs of the patient
Conducting individual and group therapy, behavioral interventions, and intervention with families as part of an interdisciplinary team treatment approach
Working independently as well as collaboratively to implement a treatment plan appropriately and adjust it according to clinical needs of the patient
Preparing appropriate documentation in a timely manner of evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and charges
Assisting with the development of program processes, policies and procedures, and best practices
Working with team members to develop and manage programmatic evaluations
Performing all other duties as assigned

Required

Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited institution postdoctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology
Board eligibility in Clinical Neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP-CN)
Must have or be able to obtain a license to practice psychology in the State of Colorado
One or more year(s) of experience in a rehabilitation psychology practice

Preferred

Experience with the veteran, active-duty and/or first responder population, traumatic brain injury evaluation and rehabilitation, and co-psychological diagnoses
Knowledge of human development and psychological theory as it relates to traumatic brain injuries, PTS, human behavior, and addiction
Understanding of traumatic brain injuries and their impact on physical and psychological states and relationships and should possess relationship-building skills across a diverse range of cultural settings
Knowledge of and direct experience in neurotrauma, pain management, sleep health, and rehabilitation services, philosophy, and practice
