They are offering a yearlong internship that provides students with valuable work experience and professional development in the field of civil engineering. Interns will learn to use OpenRail software, review engineering drawings, and assist in various project-based tasks within the Chief Engineer department.

Responsibilities
Learn and practice using OpenRail software
Review drawings and other source information with civil engineers to understand drawings and updates
Perform drawing tasks and present to civil engineers and stakeholders
Attend site visits with staff
Create and edit GIS datasets
Develop field verification documentation
Qualification
Required
Full-time enrollment status in a degree program at an accredited college or university
Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good analytical and critical thinking skills
Proficient organizational skills with attention to detail
Good project management skills
Ability to investigate issues and find solutions
Photographically document observations from field experiences
Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation and ESRI ArcGIS software
The demands associated with the normal office environment
Must be able to comply with office policy to work on-site twice per week
Light physical activity, including walking outdoors and climbing stairs
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Walking for extended periods on elevated, ballasted, and subway tracks
Preferred
Preferred Major(s): Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering
Preferred Level of Education: College junior and above
