Research Coordinator I - Obstetrics and Gynecology
Baylor College of Medicine is involved in high-quality clinical research in the OB/GYN department, conducting studies to promote women's health. The Research Coordinator I will coordinate day-to-day activities of research protocols, including screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants while ensuring accurate data collection and participant safety.

Responsibilities
Screens, recruits, and interviews patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study
Collects patient information from interviews and EPIC; processes documents and enters information into a computerized database
May perform Venipuncture (blood draws) and obtain vital signs on study participants
Collect, process, and transport the blood/biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol; maintain paperwork for specimens
May be required to receive on the job training of phlebotomy prior to performing on study participants
May correspond with patient throughout study
Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies
Keeps all required trainings and certificates up-to-date
Masters the skills to communicate with vulnerable populations
Keeps calm in urgent situations
Performs other job duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED
Three years of relevant experience
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in health or a related field. No experience required with preferred degree
Fluent in Spanish
EPIC and database experience
Medical background and terminology
Excellent communication skills
