Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update a comprehensive curriculum that reflects adult learning principles, accreditation standards, and best practices in donation
Design engaging educational materials (eLearning modules, job aids, low-fidelity simulations, case scenarios) tailored to diverse learning styles
Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions, adapting content delivery to meet learner needs
Evaluate training effectiveness using knowledge checks, skills demonstrations, and post-training analytics; use data to recommend continuous improvements
Design and implement onboarding programs with clear milestones, competencies, and measurable performance outcomes
Collaborate with preceptors to guide new staff through increasingly complex responsibilities while maintaining a psychologically safe learning environment
Monitor and document onboarding progress; provide timely, constructive feedback to both new hires and their supervisors
Maintain system-wide competency data for all roles involved in family support and donor authorization
Conduct assessments through direct observation, chart reviews, and simulation exercises to verify competency
Recommend individualized remediation plans when needed and ensure timely completion
Act as an educational liaison with internal departments and external partners
Represent the organization at professional conferences; share insights and incorporate new evidence into training initiatives
Participate in multidisciplinary committees that support donor family experiences and improve authorization outcomes
Develop annual education goals and key performance indicators (KPIs); regularly report progress to leadership
Manage training records, learning management system (LMS) data, and continuing education documentation
Stay informed of evolving regulatory and accreditation standards (AOPO, CMS, UNOS) and ensure training materials remain compliant
Lead or contribute to root cause analyses and quality improvement projects focused on the family approach process
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in teaching/education, instructional design, psychology, organizational development, counseling, social work, or related experience is required
Ability to navigate various websites and technology platforms
Proficiency in eLearning technologies, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical records (EMR) applications
Experience with compiling and analyzing data related to performance metrics
Excellent communication skills are required. Must communicate effectively with all personnel levels and represent the organization publicly
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is required
Ability to cope with high levels of stress and able to handle a heavy workload
Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft or drive his/her personal auto in order to meet all job duties and responsibilities
Current Driver's license required
Preferred
Bachelor's degree is preferred
Background in grief and bereavement or working with families in a medical setting or spiritual care in a healthcare setting is preferred
Experience within an OPO approaching in donation is preferred
