Bookkeeper
Southwest Louisiana Regional Planning Commission is seeking a Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure accuracy in accounting practices. The role includes handling accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and preparing tax reports, among other bookkeeping responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Maintain records according to generally accepted accounting principles
Perform Accounts Payable tasks to include monitoring purchase orders, accuracy, proper coding, payment approval, and timely payment of invoices
Perform Accounts Receivable tasks to include preparing and sending invoices to member entities and ensuring they are entered into the proper accounts in the accounting system
Prepare grant reimbursement requisitions
Collect and audit employee timesheets and processing payroll in the accounting system
Prepare bank deposits of payments, reconcile monthly bank statements, and research and correct any discrepancies within the accounting system
Prepare detailed journal entries and month-end-reconciliations
Reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure accounts are balanced
Prepare and file federal and state tax reports and payments
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in accounting and QuickBooks or related programs required
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
Attention to detail with exceptional level of accuracy
Proficiency in various computer applications including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred
