Responsibilities

The Position provides ongoing support to the department’s Director
The position will have oversight of the Minority Health Program (African American Health Program, Asian American Health Initiative, and Latino Health Initiative
The MLS II will liaise with internal DHHS bodies, including the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Public Health Services, Children Youth and Family Services / the Social Services Office, Behavioral Health and Crisis Services, Aging & Disabilities as well as Services to End and Prevent Homelessness; providing leadership and resolution to confidential matters across the DHHS enterprise
This position will serve as a senior member of the Department’s leadership team responsible for building and nurturing a fully integrated human services and public health system
The position will supervise the following classifications: Program Manager II (2) and MLS Manager III (1)

Required

Seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience in Health and Human Services-related field, Three (3) years of which were in a supervisory or executive capacity
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree
Possession of a valid Class 'C' (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence when required for job-related duties

Preferred

Seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in Health and Human Services-related field, 5-years of which were in a supervisory or executive capacity
5-7 years of experience in budget management and Program oversight
Experience analyzing Health and Human Services community needs and making recommendations on policy development, policy issues and decisions and customer service needs
Experience leading large organizations, projects, process improvements and initiatives
Experience in communicating information to large groups of internal and external partners (elected officials, Private, County, Regional, State, Community focus groups, and federal partners)
