Responsibilities
Operates all common machine shop equipment and hand tools skillfully, including CNC and manual machine tools
Work from engineering prints and/or CAD models to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products
Programs CNC machines and achieves product dimensions and tolerances
Program production machines, set up production machines, and assist production machine operators
Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs
Work with engineers to improve design for manufacturing (DFM)
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming and machining
Operates all common machine shop equipment and hand tools skillfully, including CNC and manual machine tools
Work from engineering prints and/or CAD models to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products
Programs CNC machines and achieves product dimensions and tolerances
Program production machines, set up production machines, and assist production machine operators
Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers

Close tolerance machining experience is required
Results-oriented, works independently with little or no supervision, and manages multiple projects simultaneously
Problem-Solving
Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally
Preferred
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school desired
Experience with composite material tooling, prototype machining, and ferrous and non-ferrous metal machining
Experience working in ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 environments
CAM: MasterCam
GD&T and print reading knowledge
Familiarity with precision measuring equipment typical to a machine shop environment
