Radiation Physicist
OSF HealthCare is dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services and is seeking a Radiation Physicist to support their growing cancer therapy program at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of radiation therapy treatments and performing quality assurance for various treatment modalities.

Responsibilities
Providing physics services for proton beam therapy
X-Ray and electron beam therapy
HDR brachytherapy
Simulation imaging
Optical surface monitoring
Respiratory motion management
Treatment planning
Commissioning and acceptance
Routine quality assurance
Performing all aspects of quality assurance in radiation therapy
Ensuring accurate, safe delivery of radiation therapy treatments
Maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Performing regular monitoring, testing, and calibration of radiotherapy equipment and planning systems
Reviewing and performing treatment plan calculations for external beam, brachytherapy, or other treatment applications
Maintaining proper credentials to prepare, receive, and handle potentially hazardous radioactive labeled packages
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Medical Physics
1 year of work experience in Radiation Oncology clinical procedures, including 3-D conformal planning, IMRT, machine QA, and calibration of radiation therapy/radiologic equipment
Analytic skill necessary to solve technical problems related to equipment failure, quality assurance processes, radiation dose administration, contamination, and the like
Knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective patient care to adult and geriatric patient population
Certified by the American Board of Radiology Therapeutic Physics or the American Board of Medical Physics or successful completion of certification within one year of eligibility
Preferred
Ph.D. degree in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP accredited program
Completion of a two-year residency in Medical Physics
Three years of work experience in Radiation Oncology procedures including HDR and I-131 administration in addition to requirements listed above
