Data Science Intern

They are seeking a Data Science Intern to work closely with a team of data scientists and software engineers on a data science project related to national and global security, where the intern will gain real-world experience and mentorship.

Responsibilities
Work closely with a team of data scientists, research scientists, and software engineers to create, design, and build a proof-of-concept related to the field of national and global security
Write well-designed, well-constructed, and well-tested code
Perform statistical analyses or create machine learning models
Present your progress at the end of the internship
Qualification
Required
Any of the following academic levels in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Basic/Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field: Junior or Senior currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, Completed Bachelor's degree, Currently enrolled in a graduate program
Experience coding in at least one object-oriented programming language or functional programming language (e.g. Python, Java, R, Scala, C/C++)
Basic knowledge of statistics or machine learning principles (advanced knowledge is a bonus)
Effective communication skills (verbal and written) for various audiences
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
A desire to continuously learn new skills and technologies
Self-motivation and proactivity
U.S. Citizenship essential to comply with government contract/agency or department of Federal Government requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance
