DAF FIAR Support Senior Analyst

Kearney & Company is looking for a DAF FIAR Support Senior Analyst to join their growing team. This role involves leading audit-remediation activities or key financial-reporting functions, analyzing audit findings, and ensuring compliance with financial statements and disclosures. The Senior Analyst will also prepare detailed reports and provide guidance to junior staff to enhance internal controls and financial management performance.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with government POCs to perform audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies
Execute the day-to-day research, analysis, and communication at the direction of the Team Lead
Communicate the status of project-related tasks to Team Lead
Demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills as significant time is spent drafting/updating communication artifacts (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, whitepapers)
Understand the end-to-end business processes of the Department of the Navy (DON) and applying relevant GAAP

Required

BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university
Minimum 2.5 years of progressive, relevant experience
Active Secret Clearance at minimum required
Experience working with DoD clients
Experience in DoD financial statement auditing, audit remediation, or audit readiness
Ability to work on-site in Alexandria, VA and or Metro DC client sites up to 5 days a week
Strong customer service skills and the ability to work in occasional high-pressure situations with short deadlines

Preferred

Experience working with Working Capital Funds or Department of Air Force clients
CPA or eligibility to sit for CPA certification Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Information Systems Auditor, or other professional certification
