Director, Commercial Product Implementation

The Director, Commercial Product Implementation is responsible for leading the operational execution and lifecycle management of Commercial products, ensuring compliance and successful product launches through cross-functional collaboration and governance.

Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end operational implementation of Commercial product initiatives, including benefit changes, pricing, renewals, and market rollouts
Develop and manage detailed implementation plans, timelines, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful and compliant product delivery
Serve as operational liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators (DMHC, Covered CA), ensuring requirements are met and responses are timely and accurate
Establish governance structures for product lifecycle management, ensuring operational readiness, quality assurance, and post-launch evaluation
Partner with the Executive Advisor, Commercial Products, to ensure strategic alignment and seamless handoff from product strategy to implementation
Manage and resolve escalated operational or compliance issues impacting product performance or service delivery
Lead development of policies, processes, and documentation to support regulatory audits, filings, and readiness reviews
Direct, coach, and develop staff responsible for implementation, monitoring, and improvement of Commercial product performance
Oversee development of member and employer materials, including SBCs, benefit grids, and marketing collateral, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency through data analysis, workflow optimization, and process automation
Proactively initiate, build and maintain effective relationships and communication with both internal and external key stakeholders
Communicate with senior leadership and executives, provide reports on performance and progress towards objectives
Develop goals, objectives and action plans for assigned staff which includes full management responsibility for the hiring, performance reviews, salary reviews, training, and disciplinary matters for direct reports
Conduct strategic planning for resource management in order to meet current and future departmental and enterprise-wide goals
Develops, and manages department budget, monitors expenditures and ensures financial sustainability

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or Related Field
At least 7 years of experience in Commercial or managed care product operations
At least 5 years in management or supervisory roles leading cross-functional projects or teams
Demonstrated experience in benefit and rate implementation, product setup, and compliance coordination
Strong understanding of Commercial product lifecycle management, including pricing, benefit configuration, and compliance processes
Proven ability to lead complex, cross-departmental initiatives on schedule and within scope
Demonstrated successful skills in project management, operational governance, and performance tracking
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams and drive accountability
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to support decision-making and performance improvement
Demonstrated ability to think long-term and develop strategies that align with the overall goals of the organization
Demonstrated ability to make sound and timely decisions
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing situations and adjust strategies accordingly
Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment and to lead others through change
Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships, fostering teamwork, and creating a positive work environment

Travel to offsite locations for work

Preferred

Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration or Related Field
Experience in large-scale product launches or operational transformations in health plan environments
Familiarity with Agile or Lean methodologies for process improvement
