Responsibilities

We own the design and development of new processes or improvement to existing processes at Corning facilities worldwide
You will solve problems and improve processes based on fundamental understanding and structured problem-solving methods as defined by Corning PeX team, such as KT, Designed Experimentation, and Six Sigma
You will also lead the implementation of Process Control and Process Discipline systems into manufacturing operations as well as use your analytical skills to analyze process data using statistical tools (e.g. pareto, regression, time charting, analysis of variance, gauge R&R, etc.)
Other responsibilities include measuring and communicating performance against established objectives, reviewing and interpreting data to make recommendations on immediate actions, long term corrective actions, follow-up experiments, etc., and documenting processes and mentoring operators and peers on defined processes

Required

BS or MS in engineering along with 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
Self-starter
Strong collaborative skills are required to influence with little authority
Ability to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to work effectively on all levels of an organization and within a multi-disciplined team
Demonstrated problem solving skills as applied to manufacturing environment
Use scientific method and engineering principles to solve problems thoroughly and effectively, using well-designed and executed processes and experiment plans
Strong data analysis and statistical skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or equivalent
Determine and recommend best solution from a series of alternatives within plant guidelines
Solid communication: verbal and written skills - Ability to communicate and present to internal and external stakeholders
Six Sigma/ PeX trained
Basic process capability / run charting and trend charting experience
