Responsibilities
Own technical solution architecture for large, complex, and strategically significant opportunities, typically $500K+ in value
Lead deep technical discovery to understand customer IT strategy, organizational structure, business objectives, and long-term roadmap
Design integrated, end-to-end solutions across infrastructure, cloud, security, communications, automation, and managed services
Develop custom solution frameworks that address business transformation, operational efficiency, scalability, and risk mitigation
Deliver executive-level presentations that clearly articulate business value, technical feasibility, and competitive differentiation
Lead proof-of-concept design, execution, and validation to build customer confidence and accelerate deal progression
Serve as the primary technical advisor for C-suite, CIO, and senior IT leadership throughout the sales cycle
Partner with Account Executives to shape deal strategy, competitive positioning, and go-to-market approach for enterprise opportunities
Identify and mitigate technical risks that could impact deal closure, delivery success, or customer satisfaction
Support pricing strategy, proposal development, and contract structuring to ensure alignment between customer expectations and delivery capabilities
Collaborate with Product, Delivery, and Operations teams to ensure solutions are scalable, repeatable, profitable, and supportable
Mentor and coach SE I and SE II team members through hands-on guidance, deal support, and formal training sessions
Contribute to field enablement by developing solution playbooks, best practices, and technical documentation
Represent Visual Edge IT at customer forums, industry events, and conferences as a technical and thought leader
Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings to continuously elevate solution quality and market positioning
Qualification
Required
7–10+ years of experience in enterprise pre-sales engineering, solutions architecture, or IT consulting
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required
Demonstrated expertise architecting complex, integrated enterprise solutions across multiple technology domains
Proven track record of directly influencing or closing $500K+ technology and managed services deals
Expert-level knowledge of infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, IT operations, and managed services models
Strong executive presence with the ability to confidently engage and influence C-level decision-makers
Exceptional analytical skills, including financial modeling, business case development, and ROI justification
Deep understanding of enterprise IT strategy, architecture, governance, and compliance frameworks
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling business value
Strong consultative selling mindset with a customer-first, outcome-driven approach
Experience mentoring or leading technical team members and influencing without formal authority
Preferred
3+ years of experience mentoring or leading technical professionals preferred
Advanced technical certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CISSP, CCNP, or equivalent
Background with a Managed Services Provider (MSP), systems integrator, or IT consulting organization
Experience with intelligent automation, AI-driven solutions, or emerging enterprise technologies
Published thought leadership, speaking engagements, or participation in industry advisory boards
Experience supporting multiple industry verticals such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, or government
