Responsibilities

Lead adoption of New York State clean energy requirements into Con Edisons Transmission Master Plan
Develop and oversee short and long-term bulk electric system studies for renewable integration, including offshore wind, solar, and energy storage
Perform advanced thermal, voltage, short-circuit, and stability analyses to maintain system reliability
Design and recommend transmission system modifications to accommodate new technologies and improve performance
Provide technical expertise and guidance in evaluating reliability benefits of proposed projects
Coordinate, review, and execute interconnection studies for company-owned projects
Interface with NYISO and other entities to align local and bulk transmission planning efforts
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including NERC guidelines

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 8 years of engineering work experience in planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 6 years of work experience in planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system
Practical experience in the design and /or operation of the electric power system, required
Proficiency using PSS/E, TARA, Aspen or equivalent power system simulation programs, required
Driver's License Required
The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 8 years of engineering work experience in planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 6 years of work experience in planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system
