Responsibilities
Electrical systems development to include sub-systems architecture requirements, decomposition and flow down, specification development, design trade-off optimization and design approach determination, component selection, detailed design, design analysis with documentation, gate reviews and verification
Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design including component selection, schematic capture, PCB stackup, design constraints, PBD layout and routing, signal integrity analysis, familiarity with design for EMC compliance, power consumption estimation, component derating analysis, system wiring diagrams, verification plan generation, lab test plan development and execution
Analog and power supply circuit design, including circuit architecture, schematic capture, SPICE circuit simulation / worst case circuit analysis, lab verification, and debug
Familiarity with serial and parallel digital interfaces
Operation of lab equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi-meters, and function generators
Ability to develop and make technical presentations
Guide and direct design certification tests and document results
Troubleshoot electronics failures and root cause failures in system application
Responsible for ensuring that specified quality standards are met for all tasks completed
Collaborate with other engineers in the development of work products
Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites and other IMS locations as needed
Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values
Perform job duties in a manner that maintains compliance with the environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures

Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong project management skills and willingness to take on project ownership and accountability
Ability to work in fast paced, small team environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well within and outside of the organization with customers, vendors and leadership with minimal oversight
Familiarity with Military Specifications / Standards
Ability to effectively communicate and transfer electrical and design knowledge with other disciplines including software and hardware engineering, manufacturing, program management, suppliers and customers
Able to provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to junior engineers supporting engineering analysis, architecture, trade studies and continuous improvement
Action and result oriented
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines
Ability to work weekends and evenings as required to meet company objectives and customer requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of 9 years or Graduate Degree and minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience
9+ years of electrical design experience
8+ years of analog and power supply circuit design
7+ years of experience developing electronics and budgeting EE and software design and development programs
5+ years leading EE design and development teams in a DoD environment
Familiarity with design for EMC compliance
Preferred
LabVIEW, LabWindows or other GUI development a plus
