Responsibilities

Make operational and programmatic decisions that support the successful achievement of program objectives; develop, coordinate, and advise staff and students regarding program policies and procedures
Coordinate day-to-day operations of the CFV Fellows Program, including participant communication, application and selection processes, scheduling, and event logistics. Support partnerships with Durham Technical Community College and Duke clinical units to facilitate the Summer Clinical (CNA) Training Program and related activities such as “lunch and learn” sessions, reflection programs, and mentorship engagement
Assist in the coordination of the Summer Experience Funding process, including application management, tracking fellow placements, and supporting financial documentation. Maintain accurate records of participation, program outcomes, and assessment data. Collaborate with Duke Career Center and their Internship Funding program
Provide administrative and logistical support for Health Professions Advising initiatives, including workshops, information sessions, and pre-health events. Maintain digital and print materials, manage communications, and support engagement with students, faculty, alumni mentors, and external partners
Develop and disseminate communications and outreach materials, including newsletters, website updates, social media content, and event announcements. Highlight student stories, program outcomes, and key opportunities across CFV and HPA programs
Assist with program evaluation through the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data; prepare summaries and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to the continuous improvement of both CFV Fellows and HPA initiatives through feedback and data-informed recommendations
Support fiscal and administrative activities, including budget monitoring, purchasing, and reimbursement processing. Coordinate stipend payments and maintain compliance with Duke policies related to funding and student employment
Maintain liaison with other Duke offices and external organizations to coordinate program business and enhance collaborative efforts
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Required

Work requires analytical, communications, and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program
Work requires one year of experience in program administration or in academic, instructional, or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate, and implement program activities and events, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Ability to provide guidance and direction to student and staff participants
Skill in organization, prioritization, and time management
Strong written and oral communication skills
Skill in evaluating program performance, summarizing findings, and recommending action steps
Knowledge of business and management principles related to planning, resource coordination, and process improvement
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student access to experiential learning

Preferred

Experience working in higher education and/or with student development preferred
