Responsibilities
Participate in incorporating New York State clean energy requirements into Con Edisons Transmission Master Plan
Develop short and long-term bulk electric system studies for renewable integration, including offshore wind, solar, and energy storage
Conduct thermal, voltage, short-circuit, and stability analyses to maintain system reliability
Design and develop transmission system modifications to accommodate new technologies
Evaluate and analyze reliability benefits of proposed projects
Perform interconnection studies for company-owned projects
Collaborate with NYISO and other stakeholders to substantiate local and bulk transmission planning efforts
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including NERC guidelines
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Power Engineering or Electrical Engineering
A minimum of three years of engineering experience in the planning, design, and/or operation of the bulk electric transmission system
Knowledge of the design and /or operation of the electric power system, required
Competency in using PSS/E, TARA, Aspen or equivalent power system simulation programs, required
Demonstrated analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Develops and delivers effective presentations
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc
Driver's License Required
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Power Engineering or Electrical Engineering
A minimum of three years of engineering experience in the planning, design, and/or operation of the bulk electric transmission system
