Responsibilities
As part of a team, perform engineering design tasks for transportation and/or municipal projects including studies, preliminary engineering, and final design
Learn about design tools including Microstation and Open Roads software
Develop construction contract documents including plans, specifications, cost and estimates
Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers especially in PennDOT, local governments, and private clients
Learn about different aspects of highway and municipal design and help develop transportation construction plans, including but not limited to cross sections, traffic control, drainage, and signing and pavement markings plans
Collaborate with Eastern Pennsylvania Highway staff to complete tasks
The desire to grow your knowledge, expertise, leadership skills, and relationships is desirable
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required
Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment, self-motivated, demonstrated organizational skills, team player, and commitment to continuous improvement
Effective time management, technical and interpersonal skills
Articulate with a professional presence and solid decision-making, planning and organizational skills
Desire to increase knowledge, expertise, leadership skills, and relationships over time
Preferred
Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) License registered in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred
Prior experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike projects is desirable but not required
