Responsibilities

Leads and coordinates engineering functional technology needs, may lead a team of associates that supports engineering information systems and end users
Operates, calibrates, installs, programs, repairs, designs, and fabricates instrumentation and data acquisition systems
Designs, develops, and documents new data acquisition systems; serves as expert in hardware and software systems; coordinates and sets up tests; troubleshoots problems
Schedules and prioritizes projects in order to produce optimal results; schedules work by interfacing with customers both internal and external as well as support groups within the company
Specifies, purchases, and maintains equipment; fabricates prototypes; designs and executes field tests
Uses a number of general tools including but not limited to digital multimeter, soldering iron, function generator, and frequency generator
Reads and interprets electrical wiring diagrams
Communicates (oral and written) technical information to a diverse customer base
Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures
Develops and conducts training programs; provides counseling, mentoring, and coaching
Serves as company representatives in various capacities to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies
Interacts effectively with employees throughout the company
Demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks as they become evident; initiates, develops, leads, and participates in improvement projects
Manages own work and adjusts work priorities in order to meet the demands; participates in self and team audits and associated corrective action; plans and engages in continuous learning in order to be prepared for changing work demands
Performs other duties as required
Develops, updates and administers department databases, wikis, websites, systems, security status and technical libraries; assists with the migration from one technology platform to another technology platform; participates in the engineering application certification process
Monitors and audits function-related activities
Aligns engineering department training and communication process; defines and maintains workstations used specifically for the technologies administered
Provides engineering support and administration expertise for databases, technologies, web sites and technical libraries; ability to troubleshoot engineering system functionality and interfaces; participates in the development of technologies, websites, wikis or databases, develop web and wiki pages
Ensures installation, set-up and technical support for new and existing systems; provides global support for data maintenance; manages global data and supports systems
Coordinates related financial activities such as tracking charges and charge backs; interfaces with financial systems; analyzes, compares, and reports related financial data
Initiates, develops, leads improvement processes; actively participates in self- and team audits and resulting process improvements
Understands and applies appropriate Company and department rules and guidelines to work and to systems; participates in the maintenance of quality procedures
Exercises independent decision-making and initiative in determining what needs to be done and planning and implementing the needed activities; performs problem solving, creative technical and analytical work, budget management, and hands-on applications; coordinates programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking
Demonstrates confidentiality as required
Shares work with exempt and other OCU employees as required
Manages own work and maintain a flexible schedule in order to meet the demands of priority work; participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action; plans and engages in continuous learning in order to be prepared for changing work demands
Travels as required by the position
Performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done

Required

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification OR Position Profile Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR Bachelors degree in a related field
Must pass all related testing
Manage inventory of failed parts
Fulfil engine, aftertreatment, and failed part requests for internal and external teams
Support failed parts creation as needed
Help plan EEEC and other team events
Good Organizational and documentation skills
Support failed part installation in test cell and on truck
Support test cell status tracking

Inventory software experience preferred
