Litigation Paralegal
LHH is assisting an AmLaw 100 law firm in seeking a Commercial Litigation Paralegal for their downtown Dallas office. The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys in all phases of litigation, including case management, court filings, and trial preparation, while working on high stakes cases with a dynamic legal team.
Responsibilities
Assisting Attorneys in all phases of litigation from case initiation through trial
Assisting with calendaring case deadlines
Assisting with drafting court filings and preparations in Federal and State courts
Assisting with discovery, document collection, organization, review, and productions
Proofreading, cite checking and blue book court briefs and discovery documents
Assisting with deposition, meeting, or interview preparations
Assisting with all aspects, including travel, of trial and arbitration preparations
Preparing various charts and indices
Coordinating with external vendors
Performing various day-to-day case management tasks
Mentoring and providing guidance to junior paralegals and legal assistants as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience at an AmLaw 100 firm preferred
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program
Proficiency in Texas state and U.S. federal court procedures
Understanding of common litigation practices, procedures, regulations, and workflow
Proficiency in iManage, LexisNexis, Westlaw, MS Office, Adobe
Experience with eDiscovery Databases such as Relativity, Opus 2, and CaseMap
Billable hour requirement is currently 1,725 hours but will be changing to 1,600 hours
Ability to support complex litigation cases from beginning to end
Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
Flexible and able to multi-task, balancing priorities and tight deadlines
Proactive and able to efficiently handle multiple projects and client matters simultaneously
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Superior analytical and reasoning abilities
Prepares and timely submits timekeeping reports
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with members across multiple offices
Available to travel as needed
Ability to work overtime as necessary
Preferred
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience at an AmLaw 100 firm preferred
Experience with hotseat and trial presentation software such as Trial Director and/or OnCue a plus
