Weld Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd Shift

The Weld Manufacturing Engineer will support the development and production of welded components, ensuring efficient and cost-effective welding processes while collaborating with various teams to meet quality and production targets.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and optimize manual and automated welding processes to meet safety, quality, cost, and production requirements
Lead and support manufacturing execution by directing process technicians, tooling technicians, and robot programmers, including oversight of assigned direct reports
Collaborate cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Quality, Assembly, Tube Fabrication, Paint, and New Product Introduction teams to support current production and new product launches
Define, specify, and validate welding tooling, fixturing, and equipment, including coordination with external tooling vendors and on-site tool runoffs
Analyze manufacturing methods, labor standards, and workstation layouts to improve productivity, material flow, and cost performance
Identify production issues affecting safety, quality, delivery, or cost and implement practical, data-driven solutions
Develop and maintain process documentation, welding specifications, and standard work instructions
Support capital equipment planning, make-versus-buy analysis, and departmental budgeting activities within approved parameters

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Weld Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
1+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment
Experience developing or supporting welding processes, including tooling, fixturing, and equipment
Ability to read and interpret welding and mechanical prints and specifications
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

Preferred

Experience with robotic welding programming or weld tool design and maintenance
