Responsibilities

Lead emulation efforts for new program launches
Stay current on emerging controls technologies—including PLCs, HMIs, networks, robotics, and vision systems—and evaluate their application within GM manufacturing environments
Manage project deliverables to meet program timing milestones
Present project updates and technical report-outs to senior leadership
Provide troubleshooting and technical support for existing programs and plant operations
Offer technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced controls engineers
Design, implement, and troubleshoot electrical controls systems
Develop and test advanced process technologies as part of continuous improvement and innovation initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or related field
At least 1 year of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering; 3+ years preferred
Strong proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or equivalent)
Experience in Emulation/Simulation (emulate3D, fe.screen-sim)
Experience with HMI/SCADA development (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition, or similar)
Familiarity with electrical panel design, wiring standards, and troubleshooting

Preferred

Process Simulation experience
Experience with GM Global Common Controls Architecture
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus)
