NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST INSPECTOR
NAVWAR is seeking a Nondestructive Test Inspector to serve in the Nondestructive Test Division at the Trident Refit Facility in Bangor. The role involves performing nondestructive testing and analysis on various mechanical components and systems related to Naval submarines and nuclear propulsion plants to ensure structural integrity.

Responsibilities
You will perform nondestructive testing and analysis on complex and non-routine mechanical components, piping systems and structural assemblies related to Naval submarines and nuclear propulsion plants to determine structural integrity
You will utilize the most advanced test methods and procedures in solving the most complex inspection problems
You will inspect newly acquired items and in-service monitoring inspections, both in laboratory and field settings
You will perform inspections on Nuclear Reactor Plant components and systems such as: Coolant systems and pressurizing piping, pumps and valves, heat exchangers and steam generators
You will inspect other critical ship's systems such as emergency main ballast high pressure vessels; hull integrity weld joints and propulsion shafting
You will also inspect items such as hull fittings, hatches, main steam valves, main sea water valves and pumps, torpedo tube components, propellers, shafting air valves, steam turbines, force draft blowers and more
You will use equipment and technologies such as Manual and Automated Ultrasonic Testing, X-ray and isotope (gamma) Radiographic Testing and Eddy Current Heat Exchange Testing inspection methods
You will acquire and record test results and data using enhanced signal processing and acquisition software on computer based platforms, interpreting, evaluating and analyzing test results by various methods
You will complete and maintain test records subject to audits, inspection charts, reports and digital image

Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
