The role involves providing clinical support in managing patients in ambulatory surgical clinics and participating in comprehensive patient care alongside a multidisciplinary surgical team.
Responsibilities
Conducting perioperative evaluations, including H&Ps, patient counseling and longterm surveillance
Participating in care coordination as a liaison between the care team and clinic managers, nurse coordinators, research staff and other support staff
Managing postoperative followup visits, wound checks, minor procedure clinic and longitudinal surveillance
Documenting clinical encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
Participation in quality improvement initiatives, developing patient education programs, providing education to PA students or other duties as assigned by the department chair
Qualification
Required
Must have valid State of California PA. License
Must have National Board Certification for PA's
Must be able to obtain medical staff privileges
