They are seeking an IT Security College Co-Op to manage alerts and handle security events within a Security Operations Center (SOC), focusing on monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents while ensuring the organization's security posture.

Responsibilities
Monitor, analyze, and manage security alerts and events within the SOC
Investigate, escalate, and respond to security incidents to mitigate risks effectively
Perform daily security operations, including threat hunting and incident management
Use tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, and network monitoring systems to detect and prevent threats
Conduct regular vulnerability scans, risk assessments, and penetration tests
Remediate identified security deficiencies and vulnerabilities
Develop and maintain security monitoring and alerting processes for critical systems
Investigate and analyze security incidents to determine root causes and impacts
Participate in on-call rotations to support the organization’s security operations
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a degree fulltime in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
Graduation date of December 2026 or later
Available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, year-round
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends
