Water Resources Engineer

GFT is a privately held AEC firm specializing in transportation, water, power, and buildings. They are seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer to focus on project delivery and work on stormwater management design, erosion and sediment pollution control plans, and highway drainage designs for highway projects in Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed design deliverables such as calculations, reports, models, permit applications, and plans for highway projects from preliminary to final design
Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers especially in PennDOT, local governments, and private clients
Mentor and supervise junior engineers in developing plans, including but not limited to implementation and knowledge of drainage, post construction stormwater management, and E&S plans
Collaborate with Eastern Pennsylvania highway staff to prepare E&S and PCSM designs as well as prepare Chapter 102 (NPDES) permits
Knowledge of hydraulic design required
Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team to complete tasks within scope, schedule and budget
The desire to grow your knowledge, expertise, leadership skills, and relationships is desirable

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
Stormwater Management/NPDES permitting experience required
Proficient with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation design
Proficient with Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission policies
Proficient with PADEP standards and specifications
Knowledge of hydraulic design required
Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team to complete tasks within scope, schedule and budget
Effective time management, technical and interpersonal skills
Articulate with a professional presence and solid decision-making, planning and organizational skills
General understanding of how to manage/monitor scopes, schedules and budgets on projects

Preferred

Professional Engineering (PE) License registered in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred
5-10 years' progressive engineering experience in stormwater/drainage design required
