Responsibilities
Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of engineering, and mathematical analysis
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for enhancements and new products
Understand and define software requirements and architectures
Develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, cloud-based and Internet related tools
Define proprietary platform(s), including hardware and software components
Drive software and systems solutions including development and product definitions
Work with cross-functional teams including engineers to develop systems-level software, working on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles
Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance
Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results with little to no supervision
Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company systems and products
Work with architecture specialists to improve future products
Apply a data minded approach to target optimization efforts
Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture
Design and develop new groundbreaking technologies
Participate in new ASIC and hardware bring ups
Debug/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work
Develop technical relationships with peers and partners
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or closely related software developer, or engineering role
Application development using C, C++, or Python
Debugging on macOS, Linux, or Unix systems
Using Git to manage and collaborate on software development projects
Utilizing Jira for visualizing tasks, prioritizing work, and tracking progress
Software and Hardware verification to ensure software and hardware components work together correctly and meet specifications
Conducting software performance analysis, including identifying bottlenecks, profiling, algorithm optimization, and code refactoring
FFMPEG plugin development
Firmware development
Preferred
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related software developer, or engineering role
