Digital Marketing Strategist

They are seeking a Digital Marketing Strategist to lead online communications strategy and execution, manage WordPress websites, and produce compelling content to enhance the organization's digital presence.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive digital communications strategy aligned with Weitzman’s mission, including website content, email, and social media campaigns
Lead multi-channel digital campaigns to raise awareness, engage stakeholders, and support program goals
Use SEO best practices to optimize web content and improve site visibility
Maintain and grow web analytics capacity: monitor, report, and interpret website usage and campaign performance, recommending optimizations
Serve as the supporting manager for the Institute’s WordPress websites, including routine content updates, page creation, design tweaks, and plugin maintenance
Oversee two key two strategic initiatives: Prescription for Play (P4P) website: managing content, resources, and updates for this program focused on integrating play into pediatric care
Behavioral Health Workforce Training website: maintaining and updating content for programs supporting workforce development in behavioral health
Partner with external web developers or designers to scope, plan, and execute major site enhancements or redesigns
Ensure web content is aligned with brand, voice, and organizational priorities
Write, edit, and oversee digital content for websites, blog posts, newsletters, case studies, reports, and social media
Capture and curate stories from program staff, partners, and community for web and social media
Coordinate visual storytelling: working with photographers, videographers, or designers to produce images, infographics, and videos
Manage communications consultants (web designers, writers, digital agencies), including contracts, deliverables, timelines, and budgets
Oversee internal workflows for digital content production via editorial calendars, timelines, and cross-team collaboration
Ensure all projects are on schedule and aligned to organizational strategy
Act as the primary point of contact for communications between the Weitzman Institute and MWHS Communications team, coordinating joint campaigns, messaging, and alignment
Work cross-functionally with program, policy, training and research staff to surface stories, translate complex work, and amplify impact
Track and report on digital metrics: website traffic, engagement, campaign ROI, social media reach, email performance
Use data to assess what works, identify gaps, and inform future strategy
Recommend and lead process improvements in digital communications workflows and content strategy
Ensure all communications reflect the Institute’s brand, tone, and values
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Research Communication, or a related field
Experience in digital communications, health communications, or similar roles
Proven WordPress (or other CMS) experience
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills for diverse audiences
Strong project management experience, including managing external vendors/consultants
Knowledge of digital channels: email, social media, analytics tools
Experience working cross-functionally and collaborating with multiple stakeholders
Commitment to mission-driven work and health equity
Preferred
Experience in healthcare, public health, or research nonprofits
Proficiency with Google Analytics (or GA4), SEO, and content performance tools
Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), social media scheduling tools, and design tools
Familiarity with project planning tools (e.g., Monday.com) or editorial calendar management
Multimedia experience (video, infographics, photo) a plus
