Autocad Technician

Pine Creek Structures, Inc. is seeking an AutoCAD Technician to support their Engineering Department in producing accurate construction drawings and design documents. The role involves drafting, revising, and maintaining drawings to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

Help develop & maintain AutoCAD standards that will be necessary to create discipline-specific drawings
Create and/or revise detailed drawings necessary for each specific project. This would entail the incorporation of plan sheets, proper notes, and project specific details. Plans sheets that would need to be created would include:
Building plans that includes the detailing of floor systems, wall framing, and other structural components of that building
Land Development plans that show the overall layout of the site, grading to be completed, and the necessary utility connections needed for that project
Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable building codes, municipal ordinances, and state/federal regulations
Work closely with the Engineer to coordinate the drafting of plan sets based on engineering concepts and calculations to meet the necessary time frames of a project
Plot project drawings and print other document packages needed for:
Permit submittal
Municipal/County Submissions
Construction/Manufacturing
Support design changes based on:
Building Code, Municipal Ordinance, and State/Federal Regulation changes
Product improvements
Feedback for Contractors/Manufactures
Be familiar with regulations that will affect the overall design of a project, which would include:
State Building Codes (CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, WV)
Municipal Ordinance (Subdivision and Land Development and Zoning)
State/Federal Regulations (State DOT, NPDES, etc.)
Assist with documentation needed for inspections and the closure of permits

Required

Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field (additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
2+ years of Civil3D or AutoCAD experience (industry experience preferred)
Proven experience drafting a variety of civil engineering projects
Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques and procedures
Ability to draft plans and drawings from engineer provided markups
Strong understanding of construction methods that would be used for each project
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong professional verbal and written communication skills necessary to work with engineer, contractors, municipal personnel, and production managers
Strong organizational and time-management skills

Preferred

Experience in portable shed, modular, or prefab structure manufacturing
Familiarity with structural design concepts (load paths, connections, framing)
Exposure to multi-state code compliance environments
Experience in being provided design concepts from engineer or client to create plan documents that shows the design intent of that project
Experience in reviewing plans and providing design suggestions and ensure they are compliant with company standards, codes, and other regulatory requirements
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as Adobe
