Responsibilities
Design and develop new products and improve existing ones
Create 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and process instructions
Estimate production costs and optimize designs for manufacturability
Lead multiple projects from start to finish, keeping timelines on track
Partner with production to solve real-time shop floor challenges
Continuously improve product performance, safety, and profitability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, sales, and manufacturing
Qualification
Required
5+ years in a manufacturing environment with a strong mechanical background
SolidWorks proficiency (5+ years) with strong parametric modeling and bottoms-up design
Skilled with measuring equipment, reverse engineering, and part inspection
Knowledge of machining, welding, sheet metal, and general shop practices
Ability to design for manufacturability and serviceability with creative problem-solving
Strong communication skills to work effectively with production teams and vendors
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
Broad understanding of machine structures, mechanisms, and manufacturing processes
Strong 3D CAD expertise in SolidWorks required
Preferred
SolidWorks surfaces and sheet metal modeling
Experience with welding processes, tooling, and fixture design
Basic electronics (wiring harnesses)
Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical systems is a plus depending on assignment
