Responsibilities
Lead CICS system programming and engineering activities with 10+ years of practical experience
Perform system and software maintenance for large-scale CICS environments
Support 24×7 Sysplex and CICSPlex environments, ensuring high availability and performance
Collaborate closely with application development and operations teams
Perform advanced CICS performance tuning, debugging, and dump analysis
Analyze SMF data and leverage CICS Performance Analyzer for tuning and optimization
Provide on-call production support and resolve critical issues outside business hours
Ensure stability, scalability, and performance of enterprise CICS regions
Qualification
Required
10+ years of hands-on experience as a Mainframe CICS System Programmer
Strong expertise in SMP/E, CICS upgrades, and software maintenance
Deep knowledge of CICS parameters controlling performance in CICSPlex environments
Extensive experience with CICS SMF record structures and CICS Performance Analyzer
Proven experience implementing and customizing CICSPlex SM, including Dynamic Transaction Routing (DTR)
In-depth understanding of CICS resource definitions affecting region performance
Experience with CICS monitoring tools such as Sysview for CICS
Strong skills in problem determination, dump analysis, and performance tuning
Working knowledge of COBOL to support application developers
Experience with IBM WebSphere MQ for z/OS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Assembler, COBOL, REXX, CICS Exits
Web app support in CICS TS v6.x
z/OS facilities (APF, VSAM, RLS, Coupling Facility)
CICS REST services and CICS Configuration Manager
