UN Women: Programme Analyst, New York, USA, P2 FTA
UN Women, part of the United Nations Development Programme, focuses on gender equality and women's empowerment. The Programme Analyst will support the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Executive Director’s Office by providing coordination, communication, and substantive assistance to enhance management and representation duties.

Responsibilities
Assist in the strategic management of the ASGs/DEDs’ agendas, ensuring timely coordination, quality control and clearance of briefing materials and compiling the daily/weekly briefing folders
Under the guidance of the Special Assistants, provide coordination support to the planning and organization of the ASGs/DEDs’ official travel to ensure missions are strategic, well-prepared, and results-driven
Support systematic, proactive and timely follow-up to meetings and corporate initiatives, including the preparation of notes, summaries, and correspondence, and liaising with relevant divisions and offices to ensure accountability and implementation of agreed actions
Support the management of UN Women’s governance bodies
Ensure the organization’s governance bodies meet as planned/requested, and, in close collaboration with relevant staff in the Executive Office, that discussions are strategic in nature – advising on agenda items and topics for collective discussion and decision making
Ensure relevant documents, such as the agenda, background documents, etc., reach members of different bodies in sufficient time for strategic decisions
Provide quality assurance of all materials submitted to UN Women’s governance bodies
Address challenges with governance bodies in real time, advising senior management on changes needed to make governance bodies more effective collective decision-making spaces within UN Women
Support the management of global retreats, as required
Ensure minutes and documents are accurately maintained and stored
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organisation
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or equivalent in Gender equality issues, political affairs, international relations, social sciences, communications or journalism or a related field is required
A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree
At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience working on internal and event coordination, partnerships or related field is required
Experience working in a front office is required
Fluency in English is required
Preferred
Experience supporting internal governance process is desirable
Experience working on partnerships in the area of gender equality and women's empowerment is desirable
Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish)
Familiarity with UN structure and values is an asset
