Responsibilities
Design and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases for complex software systems
Develop testing strategies for new features and product releases
Identify testing requirements and create detailed test documentation
Analyze requirements and collaborate with development teams to ensure testability
Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and test suites
Create and execute automated tests for web applications, APIs, and mobile platforms
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Monitor and maintain test automation infrastructure
Perform thorough manual testing for complex features and edge cases
Execute exploratory testing to identify potential issues and user experience problems
Conduct regression testing and validate bug fixes
Test across multiple browsers, devices, and operating systems
Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution
Collaborate with development teams to reproduce and resolve issues
Perform root cause analysis on quality issues
Validate that software meets functional and non-functional requirements
Work closely with Product Management to understand acceptance criteria and user stories
Partner with developers to ensure quality practices are integrated throughout the development process
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Communicate testing progress and quality metrics to stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
4+ years of experience in software quality assurance
Strong expertise in test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
Experience with API testing and tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar
Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience with bug tracking and test management tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Experience with performance and load testing tools (JMeter, K6, LoadRunner)
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker)
Experience with mobile application testing (iOS/Android)
Understanding of database testing and SQL
Knowledge of security testing principles
ISTQB certification or similar quality assurance credentials
Experience in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment
