Responsibilities
Advocating the State’s position in all court hearings, trials and sentencings
Preparation of legal documents
Legal research
Taking of depositions
Interviewing of witnesses, victims and other parties to ascertain facts of case for prosecution
Case preparation for court presentation
Examining and cross-examining witnesses/defendants/victims
Summarizing cases for presentation for jury and non-jury trials
Professional interaction with the public, law enforcement, and office staff
Proficient management of detailed case work
Ability to use office computer software and equipment
Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
Perform various frequent and repetitive actions/duties, in use of computer programs/keyboard and telephone
Work as a team
Regular, in-office attendance
Travel may be required
Lifting of case boxes up to 50 lbs may also be required
Qualification
Required
Member of the Florida Bar in good standing
Law school graduates that have taken the Florida Bar Exam and are awaiting results
3L students from an accredited law school; preference may be given to those qualified as a Certified Legal Intern
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
Proficient management of detailed case work
Ability to use office computer software and equipment
Ability to work as a team
Regular, in-office attendance
Travel may be required
Lifting of case boxes up to 50 lbs may also be required
