Project Engineering Designer

Menlo Engineering Associates is seeking a Project Engineering Designer responsible for the design and engineering analysis of various types of site layouts. The role involves preparing plans for road improvement projects and coordinating with clients and consultants.

Responsibilities

Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property
Prepare Grading Plans and Design
Design of Stormwater Management and Stormwater Conveyance Systems, Utility Systems and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Design Plans
Aid in the preparation of traffic related road improvement plans, traffic control plans, traffic signal plans
Project coordination with client, other consultants and project team for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan application
Prepare technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer and site investigation reports
Prepare written correspondence to outside agencies, client, contractor, etc
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
5+ years' experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience)
Valid driver's license
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Knowledge of MicroStation a plus
Knowledge of the planning and zoning process
Knowledge of the NJDEP Stormwater Management Rules and Regulations governing Hydrologic and Hydraulic and Stormwater Design for Major Developments
Proficient in design and drafting capabilities
Proficient grading and drainage design skills
Utility design experience including gravity wastewater and potable water
Experience in the preparation of road improvement plans, traffic signal design, traffic control plans a plus
Knowledge of NJDOT road design specifications
Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Independent and critical thinking abilities
Ability to work under a Project Manager or in a team-oriented environment
