Business Development Manager

Professional Training & Coaching

Responsibilities

Iteration & Adaptation of Communication Materials: UFacilitate will provide a Business Development toolkit with core communication materials. Based on client conversations, the Business Development Manager will work with UF to adapt and refine these materials for different sectors, organization types, and geographies
Outreach to Potential Clients: Based on UFacilitate’s market segmentation and sales strategy, proactively reach out to relevant clients through multiple channels using jointly developed communication materials
Relationship Building & Networking: Attend conferences, industry events, and other networking opportunities to build relationships with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders, representing UFacilitate’s values and mission
Client Qualification & Discovery: Conduct initial discovery calls to understand potential client needs, assess alignment, and qualify opportunities based on UFacilitate’s values, expertise, and capacity
Pipeline Management & Reporting:
Track and manage leads through the sales pipeline using CRM or tracking systems
Provide regular reports on outreach activities, conversion rates, and partnership progress
Maintain accurate records of all client interactions, introductions, and proposal submissions
Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in target sectors. Identify new market segments or geographies aligned with UFacilitate’s capabilities
Internal Collaboration: Work closely with delivery teams to ensure smooth handoffs from business development to project execution. Participate in internal strategy sessions to refine UFacilitate’s positioning, offerings, and market approach
Feedback to Market Segmentation and Sales Strategy: Based on interactions with potential clients and partners, provide structured feedback on the effectiveness of market segmentation, messaging, and sales strategy
Proposal Development & Support: Support proposal development by collaborating with the UFacilitate team to tailor proposals, presentations, case studies, and success stories for specific opportunities

Required

A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields
At least 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in partnership development and management
Experience working with databases, software platforms, and technology processes
Familiarity with nonprofit, philanthropic, or multilateral organizations and their processes
Strategic Thinker: A Business Development person needs to have strong analytical skills, the ability to think critically and strategically, and a creative mindset to identify and pursue new opportunities
Proactive Opportunity Seeker: Comfortable initiating outreach, opening new conversations, and persistently advancing potential partnerships while remaining values-driven and relationship-focused
Excellent Communication and Networking Skills: A strong Business Development person must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must be able to articulate the company's value proposition, negotiate effectively, and build relationships with stakeholders
Relationship Building: A Business Development person needs to be a relationship builder who can establish and maintain productive relationships with external partners and internal teams

Benefits

Commission: 10–20% of every new introduction that leads to a signed client contract, with the exact percentage determined by project value and complexity.
Referral fee caps apply only to individual contracts, typically for contracts valued above US$100,000.
There is no limit on the number of contracts for which commissions can be earned.
