Instructional Designer

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an Instructional Designer with experience developing e‑learning content and training materials for a contract opportunity. This role supports a major systems centralization initiative and requires working closely with operations specialists and field operators.

Responsibilities

Convert extensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)—often 30+ pages—into clear, engaging e‑learning modules using Articulate
Review and interpret step‑by‑step SOPs including equipment descriptions, system controls, warnings, and color‑coded indicators
Work directly with operators and engineers to gather missing details, ask clarifying questions, and ensure training accuracy
Develop structured training content and onboarding materials to support newly centralized plant operating systems
Maintain and expand a growing library of 150–180+ e‑learning modules
Participate in recurring feedback and revision cycles to refine content and ensure clarity
Organize and present complex technical information in a way that is accessible to learners without industry experience
Support documentation initiatives by helping operators format, structure, and prepare SOPs for conversion to e-learning

Required

Experience as an Instructional Designer, Technical Writer, or related training development role
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify highly technical content
Proficiency with Articulate required
Ability to manage large volumes of content and multiple iterative review cycles
Inquisitive mindset and willingness to speak with operators and engineers to gather information
High attention to detail and ability to translate detailed process documentation into learner-friendly formats
Comfortable working in a project-based, evolving environment with new systems and processes
No industry experience required; technical knowledge will be trained during onboarding
