Associate Superintendent for Finance - School Year 2026-2027

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking an Associate Superintendent for Finance to provide leadership and management of the district's fiscal policies and operations. The role includes overseeing budgeting, accounting, cash management, and ensuring compliance with finance laws.

Responsibilities

Ensure that business operations are supportive of the instructional goals and objectives of the district which include Finance, Tax Office, School Nutrition and Procurement
Cooperatively develop long and short range objectives and goals for the financial operations of the District
Achieve cost effective practices throughout the District
Compiles District, campus, and program budgets and cost estimates; prepares and submits the budget to the Board of Trustees for approval
Responsible for the financial reporting for the District
Effectively monitor the budget on a monthly basis and keep administration and the Board of Trustees informed as to its status
Assists District administrators in the management of budgeted funds and activity funds under their control
Responsible for the District cash management
Keeps the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Trustees apprised of any changes or trends in the area of school finance
Monitors District financial operations to ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and guidelines
Oversee District election process
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervise and evaluate staff

Required

Certified Public Accountant; Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field
Ability to develop and implement policy and procedures
Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
Strong knowledge and understanding of public school finance
Ability to interpret school finance laws and their effect on the school district
